To begin, open the legacy project you want to migrate to Canvas.

Once you click the “Migrate to Canvas” button, the Migration panel opens.

Now you can select which pages to migrate to Canvas. You’re free to select multiple pages if your project has them.

After selecting your pages, click “Start Migration” to begin the preparation process.

Now, if your project has no specific duplicate components in different pages, you can easily migrate them into Canvas. But if there’re multiple different components which have same name, now it’ll ask you which page you would like to proceed. After your selection here, you can migrate your project into Canvas.

FAQs

  • Can I migrate multiple projects into a single project?

For now, you can only migrate pages from your one legacy project into a Canvas project. But we’re working on migrating legacy project pages into an existing Canvas project. However, you can migrate different pages from a legacy project to different Canvas projects.

  • Can I use my legacy project after migrated to Canvas?

Yes, after migration you’ll have both a Canvas project and a legacy project. While you can use both, Legacy projects will only be supported until May 1, 2025. After that date, you won’t be able to create new generations in legacy projects, though you can still access them.

  • Some of my project files were not transferred after migration, what can I do?

We’re working on migrating pages from a legacy project into an existing Canvas project. So then, you’ll be able to migrate missing pages into your exising Canvas project. But for now as a work around: rather than repeating the migration, we recommend taking a screenshot of the missing project files and generating a similar page or component in Canvas.
